Live Facial Recognition (LFR) deployment

On Tuesday 27/01/2026, between 1200 and 1800 hours, Local Safer Neighbourhoods officers supported a planned Live Facial Recognition (LFR) deployment in the Hatton Garden, EC1 area, intended to identify individuals sought for high‑harm and priority offences. 

During the course of the operation, LFR technology enabled officers to locate and arrest three wanted individuals. Additional offences were identified at the point of arrest, resulting in further enforcement activity and the securing of additional evidence.
